Be Thirsty for Knowledge

World-class chess players have the patience to think through every move. Similarly, top performing business professionals understand the value of patience. It takes time…a lot of time to build a solid and secure life. It is important to take certain things slowly and have a long-term view of the future.

Patience acts as an accelerator to achieving your goals and gives you the ability to pre-plan your success. Patience truly is a virtue. It allows you to maintain your objectivity with decision making. Patience provides the foundation you need to perform at your very highest level. It allows your creativity and innovation a chance to spread their wings.

All of which are critical in today’s business world.

Enjoy a few tips on the power and virtue of patience in this newsletter. Don’t forget, I’m only a telephone call away, 650-341-6504.

Patience Is the Quickest Route to Achieving Your Goals

Teach your team, organization and family the importance of patience by modeling patience. When you act with patience, it builds confidence and a feeling of security among those around you. Spend time on activities that slow things down. Teach others how to think through issues before taking action. Show them how to make every decision count. Teach them to wait for things to unfold completely. This will enable you and others to do things right the first time in order to reach desired goals more quickly. Remember there are no shortcuts to being successful. It takes time. So relax and have the patience to know your desired result will materialize.

Human beings have a natural desire to get up and go! Go from one goal to the next goal. Finish one, start another. This cycle creates a life that is rushed and unappreciated. I’m not suggesting for you to eliminate goal planning. I am suggesting that you have patience.

  • Stop and regroup
  • Fill yourself up with calmness
  • Replenish your energy
  • Drink a cup of self-appreciation

Have the patience to do the above after accomplishing each small, medium and large goal. Patience allows you to slow life down and become more successful on a daily basis.

I understand the pressure is enormous to produce results quarter after quarter. Though stressful, these results keep us employed, providing the security, shelter, nourishment and safety we need to survive.

Patience plays a role in helping us increase our energy levels vs. drive like crazy until we collapse. The higher the level of energy you posses the more you can accomplish. Once again, success is not rocket science.

Have the patience to continually monitor your energy levels throughout the day. Monitor your thoughts and feelings with a “mental check in”. By doing so, it means you are engaged in maximizing your effectiveness with regard to reaching and exceeding your goals. When you recognize that you are not performing at the top of your game, patiently recover to where your thoughts and feelings need to be. For most people this only takes a few moments. The trick is catching yourself when your energy levels are starting to drop. Patiently make the internal adjustment you need.

Every day patiently imagine…allowing yourself to fill up on the miracle called life. Remember, “No one is coming”…to save you. It’s your life to live. Live it patiently or in a constant state of rush. The choice is yours.
